The decade of the 1970s in film involved many significant films.

World cinema

In cinema all over the world, the seventies brought about vigor in adventurous, cool and realistic complex narratives with rich cinematography and elaborate scores.
In European cinema, the failure of the Prague Spring brought about nostalgic motion pictures reminiscent of the ones that celebrate the 1970s itself. These movies expressed a yearning and as a premonition to the decade and its dreams. The Hungarian director István Szabó made the motion picture Szerelmesfilm (1970), which is a nostalgic portrayal and a premonition of the fading of the young 1970s ethos of change and a friendlier social structure. The Italian director Bernardo Bertolucci made the motion picture The Conformist (1970). German movies after the war asked existential questions especially the works of Rainer Fassbinder. The movies of the Swedish director Ingmar Bergman reached a new level of expression in motion pictures like Cries and Whispers (1973). Young German directors made movies that came to be known as the German new wave. It was the voice of a new generation that had grown up after the second world war. These included directors like Wim Wenders, Hans-Jürgen Syberberg and Werner Herzog.
Asian cinema of the 1970s catered to the rising middle class fantasies and struggles. In the Bollywood cinema of India this was epitomized by the movies of Bollywood superhero Amitabh Bachchan. These movies portrayed adventurous plots with car chase trying to imitate Hollywood movies like The French Connection, presented music with Disco beats and also presented the young middle class man as an "angry young man".

The decade of the 1960s in film involved many significant films.

Hundreds of full-length films were produced during the 1960s.
The decade is known for being prominent in historical drama, psychological horror, and comedy, as well as the sub-genres of spy film, sword and sandal, and spaghetti westerns, all peaking during this decade.

• Historical drama films continued to include epics, in the style of Ben-Hur from 1959, with Cleopatra (1963), but also evolving with 20th-century settings, such as The Guns of Navarone (1961), Lawrence of Arabia (1962) and Doctor Zhivago (1965).

• Psychological horror films extended, beyond the stereotypical monster movies of Dracula/Frankenstein or Wolfman, to include more twisted films, such as Psycho (1960) and Roger Corman's Poe adaptations for American International Pictures as well as British companies Hammer Horror and Amicus Productions. Other European filmmakers like Mario Bava directed many notable horror movies.

• Comedy films became more elaborate, such as The Pink Panther (1963), The President's Analyst (1967), or A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (1966). Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) elevated the concept of a comedy-drama, where the subtle comedy conceals the harsher elements of the drama beneath, and Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove (1964) set a new standard for satire by turning a story about nuclear holocaust into a sophisticated black comedy.

• Beyond the trenchcoat and film noir, spy films expanded with worldly settings and hi-tech gadgets, such as the James Bond films Dr. No (1962) or Goldfinger (1964) and Thunderball (1965). This Spy mania extended throughout the world with many countries notable Italy and Spain producing many of their own fantastical spy movies.

3 IDIOTS... Dreams come True

“3 Idiots”… India’s movie, well the title so tickling…hehehe, just wondering what’s is about.. I watched it on my visit to India couple months ago, at Sterling Cineplex at 65, Murzaban Road….

 

It’s great movie, like usual India’s cinema that always bring the life’s story. The setting background of the story is about someone’s dream and how hard he struggle for it. 3 Idiots is a comedy of ideas that is as provocative as funny, as wildly entertaining as insightful. A laugh-riot that talks about the most important of human pursuits: self-actualization.

Inspite of the comedy things, it offered touchy drama that made me cry too. This movie full of message, not only for the young generation but for the parents too. In one side it pictures the circumstances of how parents already decided a footpath for their children to be someone in the future… exemption of being wellness and well known, but mostly they decided their children dream. Perhaps you ever heard while parents said “We want you to be a doctor, perhaps the specialist one!”, “We would be so happy if you could be a famous architect!!”, “We want you to be great technician!!”.

Even though the children will dream… “I would be a superstar someday…”, “I would be a photographer”, “I want to be the best chef”… Nothing wrong with the parents or the children wants, hopes and dreams…but the way to realize sometimes out of forecast. As we now that if someone has no dreams, means he already died. People need some hopes, dreams and want to get something, to create miracle, to accomplish assignments, to become himself and to proof to the world that he’s stay alive. One lovely quote that I still belief until now.. “Just wish upon the star and your dream will come true..” It’s cliché..yes, but the point is decide what do you want to be and all the way through your capability make it happen, involve people…as you’re not stay alone in this world… ask… learn… read… listen… find out… work hard and most important to work smart.

This movie reminds all the parent not to push their children with their own dream, but also parents need to know bout their children want. I believe somewhere, out there, some parents still set in motion their dream. They forced their children to be like what they want…STOP IT!!! Ask your children, what they want… open a warm and lovely discussion as family regarding their dream.. Give suggestion and make sure they’re able to do it, share the overview, give them trust and responsible. Teach them  how to make the important decision for their life, listen them and give your positive opinion not just pointless argumentation, you may criticize them but please give them a solution too.

For the children, well-built your confidence, fight for your dream and proof it that you’re able to make it happen, not just for fun. Listen to your parents to, don’t be superior, anyway your parents was born before you and they life longer than you. Grow your passion of life and decide what do you want to be…talk to your parents, your senior, your lecture… Who’s parent that not proud while they see their children become success and happy.

So put a balance life between parents and children, open heart, big smile and feeling of being blessed that will run your family in harmonization. So at the end of this movie, you will see “Dreams come True”…

Happiness never counts by money and wealth but with your big heart and big smile.
